I need some advice trading in my Passat.

I am currently looking to trade my car. I currently have a volkswagen passat 2014 with 80000km on the clock I have been quoted 10000 to change it for a 161. Just wondering if this would be about the go of it or if there are any other options that might be worth considering. I have looked at the Renault kadjar and like it but would be concerned it may not hold its value.

Hi there,

There are definitely some doubts about the Kadjar’s ability to hold on to its value, but you can insulate yourself against that buy buying one on a PCP plan, where the future second hand value is guaranteed. There are lots of terms and conditions though so have a careful look through before deciding.

A €10k cost of change from a two year old Passat sounds a bit steep to us to be honest, unless it’s one of the very high-end models you’re looking at. Have a shop around on that one, would be my advice.
