Sounds like you need something reliable, comfortable and frugal. Choose from a Honda Civic 1.6 iDTEC diesel (circa 2013) or a VW Golf 1.6 TDI Comfortline or Highline (also circa 2013). Either of those should do the job, for the budget, nicely.
