Regrettably, you will need a seven-seater and, if you don’t like MPVs but your budget is limited, you’re narrowing your field of choice significantly. We’d say try a SEAT Alhambra, but that’s an MPV, so instead take a look at the Hyundai Santa Fe or Kia Sorento. You're unlikely to get the children all on one row in the middle, depending on how chunky the car seats are, but you might be able to arrange things in a ‘two then one’ line-up in the back of the car. They should both be in budget, too.
