The Hyundai will likely be a little cheaper to buy and probably slightly better on fuel, assuming you buy a diesel model comparable to the C 220 d, but the Mercedes will be more powerful. Obviously, while the i40 is a good car, the Mercedes has more prestige and will be nicer for you to drive day in, day out – but maybe your passengers might think a Merc is a bit flash for a taxi…? In short, either car is fine for what you require of it.
