Well, it depends what you need. The V40 is quite a compact hatchback, a rival to the likes of the Audi A3 and BMW 1 Series, whereas the Hyundai i40 is significantly bigger, a rival for the likes of the Ford Mondeo or Volkswagen Passat. So, if it’s space and load-carrying ability you need, then go for the Hyundai. Space not so important but you’re craving something with a bit more style and premium appeal? Take the Volvo.
