It’s never too hard to sell or trade-in a BMW 3 Series as it’s a car constantly in demand, and the lack of other good 2009 cars (it was a disastrous year for new car sales) has kept values up a bit. There are a couple of concerns though – first off, to make top dollar, it will need a flawless service history. Second, people are concerned about the reliability of the N47 diesel engine (and its timing chain) so it would be helpful if you have some evidence of remedial work being carried out to sort that issue and finally, with 2017 looming, that’s shortly going to be an eight-year-old car that, with the best will in the world, will start to soften off the value a bit.
