There should, depending on what spec your Golf is, be a little black and white digital display between the main dials and your total mileage should be displayed here. If it’s not showing, it simply means that the display has been switched to another menu page. Just push the selection button (usually located on the end of the windscreen wiper stalk) to change it until you get to the page you want. If you get stuck, have a look at the owner's manual. It’s always helpful.
