The issue is that it's not a common car, so Revenue is unlikely to have an estimate in its database. It won't be an easy thing to estimate ahead of an inspection at the NCT centre, either, as it depends hugely on how much Revenue thinks the car is worth in Ireland. That's not the same thing as how much you paid for it and it's called the Open Market Selling Price (OMSP). The VRT bill is as percentage of that depending on the CO2 emissions. We can safely assume that it will be in the highest emissions bracket, meaning a 41 per cent VRT bill. There is a similar car for sale right now in the Carzone listings, for just under €60,000. If Revenue takes that as the OMSP then the VRT bill would be €24,600.
