There will be a trip computer button somewhere on the car that you have pressed to take the overall mileage off the display. This might be a button in the cluster itself, on the end of the indicator/wiper stalk or on the steering wheel, depending on the year and specification of your Scenic. There are also some cars – in particular, late 2000s/early 2010s Volkswagens, that only switch to showing the odometer when they’re at a standstill, switching back to the trip mileage when they’re on the move. Check that your Renault isn’t one of this type of car by looking at the cluster next time you’re stopped in traffic.
