How strict is the rule on defining a classic car?
I'm looking to import a car from UK that was first registered in Aug 1994. Do I have to wait until August 2024 to avail of €200 VRT rate for classic/vintage cars, or is it only the registration year that is taken into account?

Revenue states that the car must be "more than 30 years old at the time of registration", which suggests you will indeed have to wait until August to avail of the €200 rate.
