First up, we believe it should have an official CO2 rating of 175g/km, which would mean Band 19 for VRT at 35 per cent. Make sure you double-check that it's not in the top band as that pushes the rate up to 41 per cent. 

Then it's all about the OMSP - the Open Market Selling Price. That's the value Revenue believes the car to be worth in Ireland and it's not easy to predict, especially for rarer cars such as the Focus RS. Let's take a guess at €48,000. That would mean VRT of €16,800 if the rate is 35 per cent.
