You've not told us the year and it's not entirely clear which version you mean. Is it the 2.0 TDI RS with the DSG gearbox? We're going to assume a WLTP CO2 rating of 131g/km if it's the previous generation model.

We need the WLTP CO2 rating and the OMSP (Open Market Selling Price) of the car to try to estimate the VRT. The OMSP is the price Revenue reckons the car will sell for in Ireland, which is not the same thing as the price you pay for it. 

A 2017 example of the this car could be worth about €25,000 depending on mileage, specification and condition so for the purposes of our calculation, let's go with that. 

If the WLTP CO2 rating is 131g/km, then VRT is 19.25 per cent. That's 19.25 per cent of the OMSP (in this case €25,000), which works out as €4,812.50.
