The issue you’re coming up against is that Ford had the FFV (Flex-Fuel Vehicle) model of the Focus in play then because of the brief dalliance with bio-fuels in Ireland – the engine, as you probably well know, can run on either regular unleaded or E85 bio-fuel, which basically isn’t available any more. The problem you’re going to have is that you therefore have a petrol-engined Focus in a market that currently desires diesel, plus the engine is bigger than the key 1.4- to 1.6-litre engine sizes that define this segment. With values for a 2008 Focus 1.4 petrol hovering around the €8,000 mark, I’d say you’re probably looking at a value of around €6,500.
