Estimating trade-in values is far from scientific as it depends on how much a given dealer wants to make the deal on a given day. They may already have plenty of ix35s in stock, for example. And while your car's engine is quite new in comparison to the rest of the car, the fact it was changed at all may well count against it as buyers can be wary of such things, worrying if there will be further issues.

Our best guess would be somewhere in the region of €3,500.
