How much is the current value for a 1985 560 SL Mercedes with around 120,000 miles
Hello Scott,
You are sitting on a cast-iron classic. The mileage is a little high, as we’ve seen a tidy-looking 380 SL of the same vintage with around half that distance on the clock up for €17,500, but the 560 SL is something of a unicorn. For a start, it was a US-market special, not officially sold here in Europe (your car should be a left-hand-drive version, as all 560s were LHD). It was fitted with the 5.5-litre V8 that, while not as powerful as the Euro-spec 500 SL, was nevertheless the ‘big daddy’ badge for the 1980s Merc flagship. Pricing it is a next-to-impossible task, as to a collector it will be worth a small fortune, but to a casual punter, it might not be worth anything like as much. If it’s clean and in good shape, you ought to get €30,000-€50,000 for it.
