How much do family saloons depreciate?
Hi,
What is the best way you can describe the rate of depreciation on new cars in the family saloon range of approx €35,000? Is it true that after three years the average is half the new value assuming average milage and good condition?

Hi William,
Half would be optimistic. Most cars will actually only retain about 40 per cent value after three years, so budget for a low figure and then subtract a little more just to be safe.
