My 2010 Mercedes E250 CDI with manual gearbox has done 165000 miles on its original clutch which is working fine with no evident slipping. How long should I expect it to last before needing replacement? I have owned the car since 2013 during which time I have done 80000 miles as it had 85000 on the clock when I bought it at three years old.
Hi Richard,
There's no way to answer that question accurately I'm afraid. It depends more on your driving style than on anything else and you clearly must be easy on the car for the clutch to still be fine after such a long time. Obviously stop-start traffic is harder on the clutch, but if you're not changing your driving habits any time soon I'd expect it to last a good while yet.
