Looking for a rough idea on how many km per full tank my 2019 1.0L diesel automatic volkswagen polo would get. Mostly dual-carriageway, suburb and driving. Thanks
Hi Emily,
OK, slight issue here – Volkswagen doesn’t do a 1.0-litre diesel in the current Polo; there’s a 1.6-litre TDI, or a choice of two 1.0-litre petrol engines, one normally aspirated (called an MPI) and one turbocharged (called a TSI). And your mention of an automatic (DSG) transmission leads us to suspect you have the 95hp 1.0-litre TSI petrol, which is the only Polo available with DSG in Ireland.
That car is officially rated at 6.2 litres/100km combined consumption, which very neatly covers your mix of dual carriageway, suburban and town driving. So, working on that figure, 6.2 litres/100km converts to 45.6mpg. Your Polo has a 45-litre fuel tank, which converts as 9.9 gallons, which in turn leads to a theoretical maximum range of 451.4 miles. In kilometres, that leads to a figure of 726.5km on a single tank.
