The first-generation Hyundai Tucson came with a choice of two petrol engines, a 2.0-litre four-cylinder or a 2.7-litre V6. The V6 was not sold here in Ireland, so we’ll assume you’re looking at the 2.0-litre model. It had a 58-litre (12.75-gallon) fuel tank and was said to be capable of 36.2 miles per gallon. That’s a theoretical maximum cruising range of 461.5 miles, or 743km, on a single tank, but in reality you’re more likely to get about 400 miles (645km) at best.
