How economical is my Audi?

How many (roughly speaking) litres per km of diesel does my 07 Audi A4 use? 120,000km on clock, 2.0-litre TDI engine.

Our answer:

Hi Laura,

Well, the official fuel economy figure for a 2.0-litre 140hp Audi A4 from 2007 is 49.6mpg. But, real-world feel consumption depends on a huge number of variables. Mileage in and of itself isn’t a huge factor – it’s more down to how well the car has been cared for, how regularly it has been serviced, what sort of condition the tyres are in, what kind of roads and for what kind of distances it’s regularly driven on, the driver’s own style and habits, excess weight in the boot, roof-rack and so on. So the answer is probably 49mpg but equally probably a good bit less than that.

Economy of 49mpg is 5.76 litres/100km - or 0.0576 litres per kilometre.
