How do you rate the MINI Coupe?

how do you rate the Mini coupe cooper for a long term car.

Our answer:

Hi Trish,

The Coupe was always a bit of an oddball one, because it wasn’t any better to drive than the standard MINI hatchback, but it was a whole lot less practical. If you’ve fallen for the looks, then that’s fine as long as you’re prepared to put up with no back seats, but generally we’d say go for a regular hatchback instead, not least from the point of view of residual values. Mechanically, they’re robust and can handle big miles with ease, but only if you make sure that it comes with a full service history in the first place, and that you keep it regularly and properly serviced once you’ve got it.
