Hi guys,
I have a 2007 Ford C-Max 1.6 petrol with 400,000km on the clock. A lot of garages won't take it because of the mileage. Have you any idea what is my best way of selling it or trading it? I want an Opel Astra and have two thousand to add with that car with no luck.
Any help please?
Hi Conor,
There’s really not much you can do, I’m afraid. That kind of mileage means that many of the major components are reaching the end of their lives and will soon need replacing, which means any garage taking it as a trade in will need to do a lot of work to it to be able to ‘stand over it’ as a sale. Sad fact of life, unfortunately. Your best bet is to simply advertise it yourself and hope that someone goes for it, but you’ll have to put it on at a very tempting price. A C-Max of that age would normally go for around €6,000 but I would think you’d be lucky to get €4,500 with that kind of mileage.
