How can I reduce my insurance?

I have shifted to Ireland 3 months back and have Indian driving license. I bought new Audi Q3 but Insurance quote was €6000 which is too high. Can you please recommend any motor insurance which can insured my car at reasonable premium

Our answer:

Hi Rohit,

I think it would help enormously if you changed your Indian licence for an Irish one. Your Indian licence is not recognised as equivalent by the Irish National Driver Licensing Service (NDLS) so you can only use it here for up to 12 months. After that, you’ll have to take a test here and get your full Irish licence. It should bring down your insurance premium a lot, but as you have no insurance history in Ireland, it’ll still be expensive. I’d track down a good insurance broker who may be able to help you at a more personal-service level than the big companies.
