How best to sell my Hyundai MPV?

I have a 2007 Hyundai Trajet automatic seven-seater and I want to sell this car. Help me please

Our answer:

Hi Mani,

OK, good news and bad news. Good news is that you’ve already come to Carzone and we’re the experts at helping you sell your car. Second bit of good news is that you’re selling a spacious family seven-seater and that’s precisely what’s in demand at the moment. Bad news is that being pre-2008 means your Trajet is on the old motor tax system and with a 2.0-litre engine it’s going to be expensive to tax, which is a no-no among car buyers at the moment. That means Trajet values are down a good bit, with the best 2007 ones going for around €5,500 and the average or below ones making as little as €3,500.

So, what can you do to keep the value as high as you can? Simple things really. Make sure the service history is up to date. Even if it’s not a fully stamped book, buyers like to see that the most recent service has been carried out. Second, before anyone comes to test drive it, treat it to a good valet and clean. These can cost as little as €40 and it can have a transformative effect on your car. Everyone likes to see a gleaming car with a spotless interior. Finally, have a good look around and check for any small paint defects, stonechips or scratches. If there are any, get busy with the T-Cut and the touch-up paint. Presentation is everything after all. Other things that might help are getting a history check done (with the likes of Cartell.ie), which you can provide copies of to prospective buyers – extra peace of mind for the buyer could well help swing the sale.
