How best to change out of my ix35?

I currently drive a hyundai ix35 141D but i will need a 7 seater vehicle come April next year. I don't want a new one or anything but possibly something similar in age. Is my best option to try sell the ix35 and then buy a 7 seater or do any garages do a swap. I know I will loose money but that is not a huge factor. Thanks in advance Derek

Our answer:

Hi Derek,

If you do trade-in, you get less money for your ix35 when chopping it for the seven-seater that takes your interest, but it’s a more convenient process, as you switch out of your old car for the new. Selling your ix35 privately will potentially gain you more money for it but there’s no guarantee that you will sell it at just the right time to allow you to smoothly segue into your seven-seat vehicle. From your request, it sounds like the convenience of part-exchanging your ix35 would be better for you, as money is not the be-all and end-all.

All garages, including those selling used cars, should offer a part-exchange system.
