Hi, We are hoping to sell our BMW 3 series, 1.6 ltr, Black, classic, 1989, would you know a value or range of values ? many thanks.
Hi Tara,
Sadly, we can’t give you an accurate answer – what you’ve got there is an ‘E30’ BMW 3 Series, a later example (facelifted, or LCI, in BMW-speak), and it’s a semi-collectible classic. The 1.6-litre models are not in as high demand as some of the rare things, like a 325i Convertible (1986) we saw that was up for €14,000, so picking a value for it is hard. If it’s in mint condition and reasonably low mileage for its age (say, no more than 10,000km per annum on average), then you might be able to get something like €8,000 for it, although it might be worth more like €4,000 to €5,000 for it if it needs work/sprucing up. The thing is, to someone in the market for an E30, you’ve got bargaining power – but it’ll be a niche car, as the vast majority of used-car buyers are looking for something newer. Good luck with the sale – and also consider looking at advertising it in the UK, because E30s are equally in demand across the water and you might enjoy more luck in that larger buyers’ market.
