Yup, you should be able to get one for that kind of budget, with mileage of in and around 100,000km, Don’t be afraid to go higher on mileage than that if the condition and history are good – the 1.4 and 1.6 petrol engines are robust old units and don’t give much bother. If you fancy an Avensis, you could potentially get one within your budget from around 2005 or 2006, but it would also be worth looking at an Auris hatch – same size and roughly the same cost as a Focus but overall has better reliability prospects.
