Without the model year and actual information on the engine in your car, we can't look it up as there have been so many different engines used in the various generations of the Insignia.

However, I don't believe a wet belt has ever been used in an Insignia. If you want to send us the full information we can double-check that for you.

Aside from wet belts, which have been proven to be problematic, there's not much to choose between 'dry' timing belts and timing chains. They each have different characteristics and there's no definitive "best" option, or else all the car makers would stick to one.
