What is a good first car for a learner driver?
Hi Kelly,
Whether buying used or new, the smaller (and less powerful), the better is usually the rule. Older second-hand cars that would make great learner vehicles would the traditional favourites, like the Ford Fiesta, Opel Corsa, Skoda Fabia or Peugeot 206/207. A little newer – but still available used – you might be surprised how good the latest batch of city cars are. They’re cheap to insure and powered by modest engines, but usually good fun to drive and easy on the fuel. Check out vehicles like the Volkswagen up!, Skoda Citigo, SEAT Mii, Citroen C1, Peugeot 108, Toyota Aygo, Hyundai i10 and the Kia Picanto.
