Golf or Astra for new driver?
Hey hi, here is job. I just got my driving licence and trying to buy a car for a beginner. I saw opel astra 2002 and a golf 4 2002, both in the same condition. Which one should I buy

Have you checked you can get insurance for these? First-time drivers will struggle (financially) to insure anything that has an engine bigger than 1.2 litres and both these cars usually had larger-capacity motors than this (albeit, the Astra Mk4 had a 1.2 engine for the Irish market). Out of the two of them, we’d recommend the Golf Mk4, but carefully check whether you can afford to insure it before buying.
