Here’s the thing – they’re both worth in and around the same money today (in ad around the €9k mark, depending on the individual car) but that means that the Volvo has shed a good bit more value than the Skoda in the intervening six years. At this point, the depreciation curve will probably shallow out a bit for both, but generally I’d say the Skoda will cling on to its value (assuming you look after it, keep it properly serviced etc) a little better than the Volvo.
