Thank you Shane. I will recheck the compression tomorrow morning to be sure maybe I made the mistake of reading very low as no compression. Is there any way to clean depisits from the valves/seats without removing the head. I have read about a product called "seafoam" that might do it. I am a bit reluctant to remove the head due to the VVT as I believe a special tool is required to lock positions of the barious shafts.

I've no experience with that product, I'm afraid, but I do think it would be worthwhile to remove to head so you have a clear view of what's going on. It's still guesswork that the valves are 'coked up' after all.
