Engine failure: anything I can do?
I have a 2008 Subaru legacy diesel, it has a full Subaru service history with 156km on the clock, and 6000km since the last service, recently the engine went in it, within 2min of the oil light flashing it stopped with a bang, the garage has stripped the engine and said the conrod broke, there are cracks in other places basically it's totalled, do I have any recourse from anyone, I realise it's past the warranty but does an FSH count for anything, particularly something that advertises its reliability. Thanks.

We’ve been on to Subaru about this, and we were told that you’ll need to get the car inspected by an approved Subaru dealer. Once the dealer has done a full technical report, it’ll look into it and see if there’s anything it can do to help you out.
