Duster or Qashqai?

Changing up from 2011 Nissan note 1.5 diesel. Deciding between 181 duster and 161 qashqai, 1.5 diesel models. Has the duster been upgraded recently and how does it compare spec wise to a 16 qashqia thanks brendan

Our answer:

Hi Brendan,

An all-new, second-generation Dacia Duster was launched midway through 2018 and is a big improvement on the original, which was a vehicle we liked anyway. However, it’s unlikely any Mk2 Dusters will be on 181 plates on the used market, so you’ll be looking at used examples of the very last-of-the-line Mk1 Dusters. The Romanian vehicle’s strength is that it is spacious and reasonably well-equipped for not much cash at all, which holds true on the used market. However, the quality of the interior fittings is not as impressive as it is in other vehicles (such as a 161 Qashqai, for instance) and the Duster, while fitted with plenty of toys, will not have such cutting-edge driver assistance safety systems nor luxury items as a Qashqai. We reckon the Nissan would be the nicer vehicle to own and drive on a daily basis, if you have the money to stretch to it.
