Does this Skoda have a timing chain?
Hi, I am looking at a used 2014 SKODA OCTAVIA ELEGANCE 1.2 TSI 105HP 4DR at 95000miles I enquired about the timing belt and was advised that the car has a timing chain which does not need replacement. Could you please confirm this? Thanks

Hi Abhijeet,
The Octavia changed model in 2013. The older car's 1.2 TSI engine with 105hp used a timing chain, but the new model, also using a 105hp 1.2 TSI engine, actually used a timing belt. So it depends on which model of Octavia it is. The one pictured here is the newer one.
