I am selling my car at the moment and have someone interested. The person is looking at getting the car picked up by someone and that they send me money and then for me to pay this person via Western Union. Have you any tips to look out for? THANKS
Hi James,
Be very careful. While we’re not saying you should be outright suspicious, if someone is sending a third party to collect the car, and not bringing along either a cheque or bank draft for the price, then we’d be a bit concerned. Never, ever let your car be driven away until the money is in your bank account. A legitimate buyer will understand that you want to be certain, and you can always offer to go to the bank with them to ensure that the money will clear before handing over the keys.
