There are quite a few different 1.4-litre engines around that time. First up, the easy one: and 1.4 diesel in the Ibiza of that age has a timing belt. It's more complicated for the petrol engines as an updated version of the Ibiza arrived in 2015 and it depends on whether you're referring to the older or newer model. In the newer model, the 1.4 TSI engine has a timing belt. In the older one, only the 1.4 TSI "ACT" engine has a timing belt, while the other 1.4 TSI engines have a timing chain.
