Not really. Check that there are no nasty knocking or clunking sounds coming from the suspension and check that the car has a full and proper service record – the one Achilles' heel of Volkswagen diesel engines is that they need regular top ups and changes of oil, and good quality oil at that. If that’s been skimped on, then you could be looking at trouble. Other, rarer, problems affect the power steering and DSG automatic gearbox and check to make sure that all the electric systems are working properly.
