Hi Shane, I had my 1.6 diesel 131 Skoda Superb (Greenline) serviced recently and was advised to think about getting the timing belt changed! There's 140,600 on the clock and I bought it from the dealer approx. 4.5 years ago. It's well looked after and serviced by the dealer. I thought it was 210,000km, to which they answered it should be changed every 5 years! Also Shane what would the value of it be?
Hi Cathy,
Our information is that it should be changed every 210,000km regardless of time, though obviously there's no harm in changing it early (other than cost). There is an advisory that it be changed every 120,000km in countries with high dust, but we wouldn't expect that to apply to Ireland.
