You've not told us the model year, and that's crucial, as there was a change in engine from 2015. Before that, the 1.2 TSI engine used a timing chain; afterwards, it used a timing belt. The earlier engine codes start with "CB", while the latter start with "CJ" so have a look for a plate under the bonnet showing that information so you can be sure, as the registration date is not a reliable indicator.
