Does my Audi A1's belt need changing?

Does my Audi A1's belt need changing?

I have a Audi A 1 petrol car 5 years old and only done 8000.00 miles does it have a cam belt and if so does it need changing

Our answer:

Hi Michael,

The 1.0 TFSI, 1.4 TFSI petrol engines do indeed have timing belts. They should be changed at least every 210,000km or five years, whichever comes first. Unfortunately, despite your car's low mileage, the advice is to have your car's belt changed due to its age.

Note that the less-common 1.8 TFSI engine uses a timig chain instead of a belt, and that has no set replacement schedule.
