Does my Ateca need its belt changing?

Hi. Have 172D Seat Ateca with only 46,000km on the clock. Seat advising need timing belt changed as it is 5 years old. Is this right given the low km on the clock

Our answer:

Hi Damien,

It depends on which engine it has as the interval changes from engine to engine. I can confirm though that at least one of them requires a change every five years, regardless of mileage.

If in doubt, ring a few different SEAT dealers and ask to speak to the service department and ask them about when it should be changed for your specific car.
