Does an old timing belt need changing?
At only eight thousand miles but seven years old does the cambelt need changing.

It's different for every engine so without any other details we can't answer that I'm afraid. Most timing belts come with a mileage or time schedule and whichever limit is reached first, that's when the belt should be changed.
