The 1.2-litre engines in the Rapid, including the TSI units, used timing chains up to 2015, but from then on they used timing belts, so you'll need to check carefully if the car in question is a 2015 model. For those with timing belts, the recommendation is for the belt to be checked at 240,000km and then every 30,000km after that until it is deemed necessary to change it.
