That really is only something that a good mechanic can advise you on having driven the car for themselves. An issue can arise from various components to do with the gearbox that might make it feel that the gearbox itself has a terminal problem, such as the various clutch parts or the selector mechanism.

Best advice is to have the car checked as soon as possible.
