Do I need to pay back tax?
Hi. I received my ownership form today and went to pay my yearsctax but online it added arrears for a month. Why would I be responsible for a car sitting in a dealership.?

Hi Angela,
You are responsible for the tax from the date you officially took ownership of the vehicle, even if it was off the road. There is a process to declare a car off the road, and hence not pay motor tax for that period, but it need to be done ahead of time.
