Do I need to change my Audi's chain?

Hello.I have an Audi A1 1.2 tfsi 2011. 99900 km I have a noise from the chain when i start the car in the morning and sometimes when i stop and start again. It is time to change the chain now and how much that will cost. Thank you in advance.

Our answer:

Hi Paris,

Perhaps bring the car along to a good mechanic to check this out, as that Audi also develops a less-expensive noise from a loose air conditioning pipe, or it could be an engine mount issue.

Chains are expensive to replace, unfortunately. The labour rate will vary from garage to garage, as might the parts, but we can tell you that it would take about five hours to do the work.
