Do I need a bigger car?

Hi. I currently drive a 1.0 Pixo. Looking to upgrade. I travel 60km to work every day but would like a car that can do 200km journeys comfortably. I won't be doing them that regularly, maybe once a week. Was considering a Ford Fiesta, a VW Polo or a Skoda Fabia etc but someone said these are all still city cars. Should I go for a bigger car like a Ford Focus or a Kia Ceed etc. Money wise, I'm wondering if it would be worth paying extra for a bigger car or is it needed. Thanks

Our answer:

Hi Sylvester,

No, the bigger cars aren’t needed – the Fiesta, Polo and Fabia are not city cars, they’re superminis and these days, they’re as good at long distances as big family cars used to be 10 or 15 years back. Indeed, you’ve listed the two main ones you should look at, those being the Ford and VW, but you could also check out the SEAT Ibiza and, if you like Skodas, the new Scala.
