Hi whats the difference between a 1.5 and a 1.6 engine in the peugeot 2018 range?

You've not mentioned which model you mean, but, assuming you're referring to the diesel engines, the 1.5-litre unit is the newer engine that will eventually replace the 1.6; it's cleaner and quieter.
