Hi, I'm considering buying a 2016 Mercedes C250 and have a choice between a C250D and a C250 CDI BE. Can you explain the difference between the 2 models? Thanks
Hi Brian,
There is no difference at all between them – save for the C 250 d is slightly newer than the C 250 CDI BlueEfficiency. Mercedes changed all its badging in 2016 and dropped the old ‘CDI’ nomenclature in favour of a lower-case ‘d’. What you’re looking at is a car with the 204hp 2.1-litre turbodiesel engine in both instances. You shouldn’t be put off the CDI BE if it’s the better car in terms of spec, colour, mileage, price and so on.
